Five business days, three bills
- To start
Send three bills
Email full PDFs to hello@energypeg.com, or write through the contact page and we reply with next steps.
- Day 1
A person replies
We confirm the bills arrived, note each utility and rate schedule, and ask for any missing page.
- Days 2 to 4
Read every line
An analyst checks each line against the current tariff: read type, multiplier, demand, riders, taxes and fees.
- Day 5
Written read sent
Two to three pages by email: what each line means, what looks off, whether more review is worth it.
- If you want it
A 20-minute call
One call to walk through the read with whoever approves the bills. Skip it if the pages are enough.
What lands on your desk
- Who it is for
- Any multi-site business, any utility
- Format
- Bills by email, a written read of 2 to 3 pages, optional 20-minute call
- A written read of 2 to 3 pages covering all three bills, in plain words
- Each line explained: what it charges for and which tariff section sets it
- A short list of what looks off, with the bill line and the amount in question
- A plain answer on whether a fuller review is worth it, and which program fits
- An optional 20-minute call to go through the read with your team
Where this program fits
A fit when
- You run several sites and nobody reads past the total on each bill
- A bill jumped last month and accounts payable paid it anyway
- You want to see how we read a bill before signing anything
- Your sites sit with more than one utility, such as Xcel Energy and Black Hills Energy
Not a fit when
- You have a single residential account; we read commercial bills
- You need 36 months audited and corrections filed; that is the Back-Bill Review
Example: a church network with nine buildings
A church network with nine buildings in Aurora and Lakewood emails three bills: Xcel Energy electric for its largest campus, gas for a fellowship hall and water for another campus. The read flags two estimated electric reads in a row and a sewer charge on an irrigation-only meter, and suggests a Back-Bill Review for the water accounts.
Questions about Three-Bill Read
Which three bills should we send?
Send your largest bill, one that surprised someone and one ordinary month. They can come from different sites, utilities or commodities. Send full PDFs or clear scans with every page, because the multiplier, read type and rider lines often sit on page two or three.
Is it actually free?
Yes. There is no fee, no contract and no automated email sequence afterward. If a fuller review looks worth it, the read names the program and its published from price. Whether you reply is up to you, and if you do, a person answers within one business day.
Do you need portal access or a signed letter?
No. For a Three-Bill Read we need only the bills themselves. A letter of authorization and utility portal access come later, and only if you choose Bill Desk or a Back-Bill Review, where we pull months of bills directly from the utility.
What if the three bills look fine?
Then the read says so and still explains what each charge is for. A clean result is useful: finance learns that the rate schedule, read types and multipliers check out on those accounts, and your team has a reference for reading the next bill.
Can we send bills from outside Colorado?
Yes. We read electric, gas, water and sewer bills from any U.S. utility. The analyst pulls the current tariff for that utility before reading, so a bill from Ohio gets the same line-by-line check as one from Xcel Energy or Colorado Springs Utilities.
