The right rate for each meter
We check every account’s rate schedule against twelve months of load.
- Length
- 4 weeks
- Price, indicative
- From $1,900, fixed fee
A rate schedule is chosen once, usually when the account opens, and rarely checked again. Load changes; the schedule stays. We rerun the bill on every schedule the site qualifies for.

Where this program fits
A fit when
- Your sites have changed hours, equipment or tenants since the accounts opened
- You pay demand charges and have never compared schedules
- Finance wants the tariff math, not a vendor’s summary
- You have 5 to 20 accounts with one utility
Not a fit when
- Your accounts are all on a residential or small flat-rate schedule with no alternatives
- You want a supply contract placed; we do not broker energy
Example: a cold storage operator in Commerce City
A food distributor runs two cold storage buildings and an office on three Xcel Energy accounts. The office has sat on one general service schedule since it opened, though it now runs a heat pump and a server room. The review reruns 12 months on every qualifying schedule, finds one account better placed elsewhere and drafts one change request.
Questions about Rate Fit Review
Will changing a rate schedule interrupt service?
No. A rate change is a billing change, not a physical one. The utility applies the new schedule from a future read date. Some schedules need a different meter, which the utility installs at its own pace; we note that in the plan before you sign anything.
Will a switch definitely save money?
Not definitely, because next year’s load is not last year’s. We show what each schedule would have cost on the last twelve months, line by line, and say how sensitive that answer is to changes in hours or peak demand. You decide with the math in front of you.
What if our accounts are with more than one utility?
The listed price covers up to 20 accounts on one utility. A second utility adds a second tariff book, so we quote it separately, usually at a lower fee per account. Many portfolios start with the utility that carries the most demand charges.
Can you switch the schedule for us?
We draft each request and, with a signed letter of authorization, submit it to the utility and follow it through to the first bill on the new schedule. The account stays in your name and nothing is changed without your written approval.
